Regular Season Round 9: Quilicura - Talca 82-94

There was no surprise when 5th ranked Quilicura (3-6) was defeated at home by second ranked Espanol de Talca (7-4) 94-82 on Sunday. Espanol de Talca shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 51.9 percentage. Quilicura was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American center Travion Leonard (205-93, college: Barry) who had a double-double by scoring 10 points and 14 rebounds. The former international forward Gianncarlo Caraboni (-90) chipped in 18 points and 5 rebounds. Four Espanol de Talca players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Jordan Little (203-96, college: KSU) who recorded a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 rebounds and the former international forward Julius Holt (187-85) added 24 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Espanol de Talca. They keep a position of league leader. Quilicura lost their third game in a row. They keep the fifth place with six games lost. Espanol de Talca will face league's second-placed Universidad de Concepcion on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Quilicura will play against Universidad Catolica and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
