An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Tepic. First ranked Lobas faced 3rd ranked Mexcaltecas. Guests from Ciudad de Mexico (17-1) smashed host Mexcaltecas (9-9) 86-45. Lobas dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Mexcaltecas' 28. Lobas forced 25 Mexcaltecas turnovers. It was a good game for the former international Sandra Sanchez (175-90) who led her team to a victory with 14 points and 4 steals. Maria Faz contributed with 8 points for the winners. Lobas' coach felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Colombian center Narlyn Mosquera (197-89) replied with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds and Ivon Vite added 8 points in the effort for Mexcaltecas. Lobas have an impressive 13-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 17-1 record. Mexcaltecas at the other side keep the third place with nine games lost. Lobas will play against Algodoneras (#5) in Torreon in the next round. Mexcaltecas will play on the road against Escaramuzas in Jalisco and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
