Marineras' fans can finally celebrate the first win of their team after 18 consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Quetzales (4-15) 68-58. Marineras forced 20 Quetzales turnovers. Mayra Gil (-3) fired 21 points and 4 assists for the winners. Joselyne Padilla chipped in 10 points and 9 rebounds. Marineras' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Cuban center Clenia Noblet (190-87) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds and Karen Ramirez added 11 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Marineras maintains fifth place with 1-18 record. It was Quetzales' ninth loss in a row. They keep the fourth position with 15 games lost. Marineras' next round opponent will be again higher ranked Quetzales (#4) in Ciudad de Mexico and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
