Regular Season Round 6: Santa ES - UDJ 54-86

UDJ's fans can finally celebrate the first win of their team after one consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as it came on the road game in , where they outplayed Santa ES (0-6) 86-54 on Sunday. UDJ dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Santa ES's 18. UDJ forced 22 Santa ES turnovers. Point guard Rocio Bedoya (164-0) notched 18 points to lead the effort and Fernanda Garcia (-95) supported her with 10 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Four UDJ players scored in double figures. Even 12 points and 5 rebounds by forward Ashley Amaya (-97) did not help to save the game for Santa ES. Center Adamarys Vivar (-3) added 9 points and 6 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. It was the only win of guest team this round and in all other games host teams recorded victories. Despite that victory UDJ went down to sixth position due to points difference. Loser Santa ES still closes the standings with six games lost. They share the position with Henko. UDJ will meet at home higher ranked Viejo W. (#5) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Santa ES will play against Henko and hopes to get finally their first victory.
