Regular Season Round 10: UdeC - Talca 85-78

Fifth defeat of league's leader Espanol de Talca (7-5) against second ranked Universidad de Concepcion (7-3) 85-78 was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Espanol de Talca. Strangely Espanol de Talca outrebounded Universidad de Concepcion 40-28 including 29 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of international guard Diego Silva (186-93) who helped to win the game recording 22 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists. The former international center Rodrigo Madera (208-90, college: St.Francis X.) contributed with 12 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. The former international forward Gianncarlo Caraboni (-90) replied with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and center Claudio Cabrera (200-88) added 19 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Espanol de Talca. Four Universidad de Concepcion and five Espanol de Talca players scored in double figures. Universidad de Concepcion keeps a position of league leader. Espanol de Talca at the other side dropped to the second place with five games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Las Animas. Espanol de Talca will play next round against strong Puente Alto trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Universidad de Concepcion will try to continue on its current victory against sixth ranked Quilicura at home.
