The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Espanol de Talca as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Espanol de Talca defeated 3rd placed Puente Alto at home 79-69. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Puente Alto. Espanol de Talca forced 22 Puente Alto turnovers. It was a great evening for American center Travion Leonard (205-93, college: Barry) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 16 rebounds. Pablo Barraza (184-94) helped adding 11 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Five Espanol de Talca players scored in double figures. Argentinian forward Nicholas Wadell (201-89) responded with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 13 rebounds and L Duhalde scored 15 points and 4 assists. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Puente Alto at the other side keeps the third place with seven games lost. They share the position with CD Valdivia. Puente Alto will play next round against strong Universidad de Concepcion trying to get back on the winning streak. Espanol de Talca will try to continue on its current victory against sixth ranked Quilicura at home.
