Regular Season Round 4: Piratas - Caballeros 87-76

An exciting game was played in Ibarra. Second ranked Piratas faced 4th ranked Caballeros. Host Piratas (3-1) defeated guests from Ambato (1-2) 87-76. Piratas forced 21 Caballeros turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international swingman Luis Riascos (194-0) who helped to win the game recording 25 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Aaron Capurro (196-0) contributed with 14 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Guard Yussephe Castaneda (185-0) replied with 19 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and center Jordan Cardenas (206-98, college: FNU) added 18 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Caballeros. Five Piratas and four Caballeros players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Piratas maintains second position with 3-1 record having just one point less than leader Importadora. Caballeros at the other side keep the fourth place with two games lost. They share the position with Santa Maria and Sacramento. Piratas will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Caballeros will play against Santa Maria (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
