Regular Season Round 6: Importadora - Sacramento 82-53

Rather predictable result in Ambato where third ranked Importadora (4-2) smashed bottom-ranked Sacramento (1-5) 82-53 on Saturday. Importadora dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Sacramento's 28. Importadora forced 21 Sacramento turnovers and outrebounded them 50-36 including 20 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was the former international point guard Martin Martinez (182-95) who scored 23 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. Power forward Abraham Barahona (193-3) chipped in a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds. Four Importadora players scored in double figures. Importadora's coach felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was center Jose Noboa (-4) who recorded 8 points, 15 rebounds and 4 blocks and point guard Alfredo Salgado (-95) added 15 points respectively. Importadora maintains third position with 4-2 record behind leader Punto Rojo. Sacramento lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom place with five games lost. Importadora will meet league's leader Punto Rojo in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Sacramento will play against Rincon dC (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
