Liga Nacional top team - Universidad de Concepcion (13-3) had no problems winning another game on Monday. This time they crushed sixth ranked Quilicura (3-14) 103-64. Universidad de Concepcion dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Quilicura's 40 and made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Quilicura 52-29 including a 35-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Universidad de Concepcion looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Quilicura's players. The winners were led by international guard Diego Silva (186-93) who scored that evening 17 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists and the former international Evandro Arteaga (178-83) supported him with 15 points and 5 rebounds. Four Universidad de Concepcion players scored in double figures. Even 28 points and 8 rebounds by the former international forward Jose Campos (189-80) did not help to save the game for Quilicura. Guard Matias Sepulveda (-95) added 20 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Universidad de Concepcion have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 13-3 record. Quilicura lost eleventh consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 14 games lost. Universidad de Concepcion will meet Los Leones (#4) in the next round. Quilicura will play against Universidad Catolica and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
