Regular Season Round 17: Temuco - Valdivia 64-87

The game between Top Four teams took place in Temuco. 4th placed host AB Temuco (8-9) was smashed by third ranked Deportivo Valdivia (10-7) 87-64. Deportivo Valdivia outrebounded AB Temuco 44-25 including a 34-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Franco Alippi stepped up and scored 16 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and power forward Santiago Soulodre (195-98) chipped in 13 points and 7 rebounds. Deportivo Valdivia's coach Juan Manuel Cordoba felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Michael Ernst (187-82) responded with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Felipe Acuna (182-92) scored 13 points and 8 rebounds. Five Deportivo Valdivia and four AB Temuco players scored in double figures. Deportivo Valdivia have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Los Leones. AB Temuco lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with nine games lost. Deportivo Valdivia is looking forward to face league's second-placed CD Puerto Varas at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. AB Temuco will play against the league's leader Las Animas and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
