Regular Season Round 5: Miramar - Tabare 91-97

Tabare has registered their first victory this season after two consecutive losses. The win is especially important as it came on the road game in Montevideo, where they defeated Miramar (1-2) 97-91 on Tuesday. Tabare made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was Argentinian center Ignacio Alessio (203-87) who scored 33 points (!!!). Point guard Facundo Medina (190-94) chipped in 22 points. Point guard Ignacio Morena (183-0) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points, 5 rebounds, 10 assists and 5 steals and Sebastian Ottonello (195-97) added 13 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for the hosts. Four Tabare and five Miramar players scored in double figures. Tabare left bottom position moving up to seventh place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Miramar. Tabare will meet at home bottom-ranked Danubio (#12) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Miramar's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Montevideo to the arena L.Borges.
