Regular Season Round 5: Osasco - Sao Paulo 77-84
Date: August 12, 2021
Bottom-ranked Osasco (0-4) is still winless. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their fourth consecutive match to leader Sao Paulo (3-0) 84-77. The former international point guard Elinho Corazza (192-89, college: Miami Dade CC) nailed 15 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists for the winning side and American power forward Tyrone Curnell (203-88, college: Valdosta St.) accounted for 21 points (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). Guard Rodrigo Italo (193-94) came up with 13 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Gustavo Scaglia (193-93, college: Arizona W. CC) added 15 points and 5 assists respectively for Osasco in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Sao Paulo have a solid series of three victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Franca and Paulistano. Osasco at the other side still closes the standings with four games lost. Sao Paulo's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Sao Paulo to the arena Corinthians.
