Another interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Sao Paulo: Sao Paulo (#3) and Corinthians (#6). Corinthians was smashed at home by 21 points 52-73 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Sao Paulo forced 19 Corinthians turnovers. Strangely Corinthians outrebounded Sao Paulo 44-27 including a 18-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. The former international forward Marquinhos Vieira (207-84) scored 17 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and forward Kauan Raymundo (200-5) chipped in 16 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was American guard Malcolm Miller (201-91, college: Southern) with 19 points and power forward Renato Carbonari (202-87) scored 6 points and 15 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Sao Paulo have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Paulistano. Loser Corinthians dropped to the seventh place with three games lost. They share the position with Rio Claro.
