The game had a very big importance for third-ranked Vivo/Franca as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Vivo/Franca defeated 6th ranked Pinheiros in Sao Paulo 83-65. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Pinheiros. They outrebounded Pinheiros 47-20 including a 17-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. International center Lucas Silva (208-95) fired a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. The former international power forward Lucas Mariano (208-93) chipped in a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds. Four Vivo/Franca players scored in double figures. Danilo Sena (196-99) produced 20 points and 6 rebounds and Lucas Caue (205-98) added 7 points respectively for lost side. Vivo/Franca have a solid series of four victories in a row. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Sao Paulo. Pinheiros at the other side keeps the sixth place with three games lost. Pinheiros will play next round against Corinthians trying to get back on the winning streak. It will be a derby game for which supporters look forward to, where their team will face at home their local rival from Sao Paulo - Corinthians. Vivo/Franca will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Sao Paulo. It will be extra interesting game as Sao Paulo is their local rival from Sao Paulo.
