Regular Season Round 4: Brumas - Real Esteli 90-66
Date: August 21, 2021
The game between Top Four teams took place in Jinotega. Top-ranked host Brumas (2-0) smashed top-ranked Real Esteli (3-1) 90-66. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Real Esteli. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Brumas dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Real Esteli's 38. They outrebounded Real Esteli 47-31 including 36 on the offensive glass. The winners were led by the former international Dalton Cacho (200-93) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds and American point guard Martell Miller (180, college: Calumet) supported him with 10 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. Miller is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Brumas players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds by the former international power forward Jensen Campbell (198-98) did not help to save the game for Real Esteli. Panamanian Josimar Ayarza (205-87, college: Southern Miss) added 21 points for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Brumas moved-up to second place, which they share with Ingenieria. Real Esteli at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost.
