Regular Season Round 10: Mogi - Corinthians 79-57

Rather expected game when 9th ranked Corinthians (1-5) was smashed by sixth ranked Mogi (4-3) in Mogi das Cruzes 79-57 on Sunday. Mogi looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Wesley Alves (198-96) notched 20 points and 5 assists to lead the effort and the former international point guard Fulvio de Assis (186-81) supported him with 6 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. Four Mogi players scored in double figures. Even 13 points and 8 rebounds by forward Alexandre Paranhos (204-92) did not help to save the game for Corinthians. Swingman Pedro Nunes (197-0) added 7 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Mogi maintains sixth position with 4-3 record. Corinthians lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with five games lost. Mogi will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Corinthians will play against Osasco (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
