Regular Season Round 13: Tabare - Cordon 84-78

The game between third ranked Cordon (4-3) and eleventh ranked Tabare (2-5) was the most important one in the last round on Monday night. Cordon was defeated by Tabare in a tough game in Tabare 78-84. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Cordon's 32. 25 personal fouls committed by Cordon helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of Argentinian center Ignacio Alessio (203-87) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 25 points and 12 rebounds. Point guard Leandro Taboada (180-86) contributed with 17 points and 6 assists for the winners. Tabare's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Octavio Medina (195-96) answered with 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and naturalized Italian Mauricio Aguiar (199-83) added 18 points and 4 assists in the effort for Cordon. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Tabare maintains eleventh place with 2-5 record. Cordon at the other side keeps the third position with three games lost.
