Regular Season Round 6: Leonas - Real Esteli 58-65

An interesting game for Real Esteli (3-3) which played road game in against one of their biggest challengers Leonas (2-5). Third ranked Real Esteli managed to get a 7-point victory 65-58. Real Esteli forced 19 Leonas turnovers and outrebounded them 54-39 including a 27-9 advantage in defensive rebounds. 25 personal fouls committed by Leonas helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for forward Bryennis Thomas who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 21 rebounds. American guard Diamond Richardson (177-93, college: UAPB) contributed with 22 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Janis Martinez replied with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 17 rebounds and Ancara Reichele added 27 points and 4 steals in the effort for Leonas. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Real Esteli maintains third position with 3-3 record having just three points less than leader No Fear. Leonas at the other side keep the fourth place with five games lost.
