The game between closely ranked teams ended with 7th ranked Praia's (3-5) road loss to sixth ranked Minas (5-3) 68-85 on Wednesday. Minas looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Forward Augusto Alcassa (201-0) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners and international forward Gui Santos (197-2) chipped in 15 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Five Minas players scored in double figures. Point guard Guilherme Ruivo (187-0) responded with 25 points and forward Gabriel Cunha (188-0) scored 8 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Minas. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Flamengo. Praia at the other side keeps the seventh position with five games lost. They share it with Brasilia. Minas will meet at home Brasilia (#7) in the next round. Praia will play against UniFacisa and hope to secure a win.
