Regular Season Round 10: Ingenieria - Rivas 96-92

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both fourth ranked Ingenieria and 6th ranked Rivas had identical 3-2 record. This time Ingenieria used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from 96-92 on Thursday night. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Ingenieria forced 21 Rivas turnovers and outrebounded them 59-47 including 36 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Cuban point guard Osmel Oliva (180-87) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 27 points, 12 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. The former international center Rudy Taylor (198-83) contributed with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winners. American Quentin Davis (199, college: Mendocino CC) replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists and Jabari Price-Martin added 17 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Rivas. Four Ingenieria and five Rivas players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Ingenieria (4-2) moved-up to second place, which they share with Real Esteli and Cacique D. Rivas at the other side dropped to the seventh position with three games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
