Everything went according to plan in Fresnillo where Plateros won against Halcones UV Xalapa 98-91 on Friday. Plateros made 23-of-30 free shots (76.7 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American forward Reyshawn Terry (203-84, college: UNC) stepped up and scored 23 points for the winners and the former international point guard Orlando Mendez-Valdez (183-86, college: WKU) chipped in 13 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. Four Plateros players scored in double figures. At the losing side British V.Islands-Indonesian center Lester Prosper (210-88, college: Old Westbury) responded with 25 points and 6 rebounds and American power forward Ishmael Lane (203-97, college: NSU) scored 15 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Plateros will meet Lenadores in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Halcones UV Xalapa will have a break next round.
