Important game to mention about took place in Chihuahua. Abejas saved a 1-point victory on the road edging Dorados 68-67 on Friday evening. Abejas made 19-of-24 charity shots (79.2 percent) during the game. Abejas outrebounded Dorados 47-33 including a 23-12 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Michael Smith (193-95, college: CBU) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 13 points and 16 rebounds. His fellow American import center Gary McGhee (210-88, college: Pittsburgh, agency: Inception Sports) contributed with 16 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Abejas players scored in double figures. Naturalized American Durrell Summers (196-89, college: Michigan St.) answered with 21 points and 4 assists and American guard Rayes Gallegos (188-90, college: Nebraska) added 13 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Dorados. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Abejas will play against Panteras in Aguascalientes in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Dorados will play at home against Lenadores and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
