Regular Season Round 12: Tigres - Leones MGA 87-93

Bottom-ranked Tigres (0-7) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 93-87 loss to third ranked Leones MGA (5-2) in Chinandega on Sunday evening. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. Leones MGA made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was Argentinian power forward Gianfranco Sinconi (204-94) who scored 22 points and 5 rebounds. American forward Chris Blake (195-88, college: Detroit) chipped in 10 points, 5 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals. Five Leones MGA players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American Quincy Scates (198-89, college: TWU) who recorded 34 points (!!!) and Jose Ortiz added 25 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Leones MGA keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 3 other teams. Tigres at the other side still closes the standings with seven games lost.
