Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Asuncion: San Jose (#2) and Sol de America (#4). Sol de America was smashed at home by 45 points 59-104 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. San Jose dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Sol de America's 34. San Jose forced 19 Sol de America turnovers and had a 35-22 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Sol de America's players. The winners were led by Argentinian Tobias Gomez who scored that evening 16 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists and the former international forward Fernando Dose (200-94) supported him with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Five San Jose players scored in double figures. Even 21 points by Marco De Felice (-97) did not help to save the game for Sol de America. Ricardo Sarubi added 5 points and 5 rebounds for the hosts. Sol de America's coach gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. San Jose have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of Group A leader. Sol de America at the other side still closes the standings with six games lost. San Jose will play against league's second-placed Colonias G. in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Sol de America will have a break next round.
