Regular Season Round 15: Leon - Indigenas 71-89

There was a minor upset when 6th ranked Leon (4-5) was defeated at home by eighth ranked Indigenas (2-7) 89-71 on Sunday. It was a great shooting night for Indigenas especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 66.7 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was Puerto Rican point guard Christian Lopez (183-95) who scored 26 points, 8 assists and 4 steals. American center James Edmond Jr (203-91, college: Lincoln, MO) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Indigenas players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Cuban Oreste Torres (204-87) who recorded 31 points and 8 rebounds and Dominican center Miguel Almonte (211-91) added 16 points and 17 rebounds respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Indigenas maintains eighth place with 2-7 record. Loser Leon keeps the sixth position with five games lost. They share it with Rivas.
