Regular Season Round 7: Halc.Xalapa - Lenadores 88-87

A very close game took place in Xalapa between Halcones UV Xalapa and Lenadores. Fifth ranked Halcones UV Xalapa (2-6) got a very close home victory over 4th placed Lenadores (4-5). Halcones UV Xalapa managed to escape with a 1-point win 88-87 on Friday evening. Halcones UV Xalapa looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Halcones UV Xalapa made 8 blocks. It was a great evening for American forward Eric Ferguson (203-89, college: Georgia South) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). His fellow American import power forward Ishmael Lane (203-97, college: NSU) helped adding 18 points and 11 rebounds. Four Halcones UV Xalapa players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Germain Jordan (198-86, college: Dillard) responded with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) and Swedish-American point guard Omar Krayem (186-88, college: CBU, agency: Haylett Sports) scored 12 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Lenadores' coach Sebastian Sucarrat tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Halcones UV Xalapa maintains fifth place with 2-6 record. Loser Lenadores keep the fourth position with five games lost. Halcones UV Xalapa will meet at home league's second-placed Plateros in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Lenadores will play against the league's leader Fuerza Regia in Monterrey and hope to secure a win.
