Regular Season Round 3: Quimsa - La Union 91-72

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of La Union (0-1) in Santiado del Estero on Monday night. Visitors were rolled over by Quimsa (1-0) 91-72. Quimsa outrebounded La Union 37-26 including 25 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was an exceptional evening for the former international guard Luciano Gonzalez (194-90) who led the winners and scored 21 points and 6 assists. International point guard Franco Baralle (185-99) accounted for 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side. Four Quimsa players scored in double figures. Naturalized Spanish guard Jonathan Maldonado (188-90) came up with 16 points and American forward Zac Cuthbertson (201-96, college: Coastal) added 9 points and 5 rebounds respectively for La Union in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Quimsa will meet Comunicaciones in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. La Union will play against Riachuelo LR and hopes to get finally their first victory.
