Regular Season Round 8: Fuerza Regia - Lenadores 98-81

Rather predictable result when first ranked Fuerza Regia (7-4) won against 4th ranked Lenadores (4-7) in Monterrey 98-81 on Friday. Fuerza Regia dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Lenadores' 38. Fuerza Regia forced 20 Lenadores turnovers. The winners were led by American guard Rodney Green (197-88, college: La Salle) who scored that evening 19 points and naturalized American forward Aaron Fuller (198-89, college: USC, agency: Haylett Sports) supported him with 12 points and 7 rebounds. Five Fuerza Regia players scored in double figures. Even 20 points and 7 rebounds by American forward Germain Jordan (198-86, college: Dillard) did not help to save the game for Lenadores. International point guard Kohl Meyer (193-93, college: Puget Sound) added 16 points for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion maintains first position with 7-4 record. Lenadores lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth place with seven games lost. Fuerza Regia will meet Plateros (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Lenadores will play against the league's second-placed Dorados and hope to secure a win.
