There was a small surprise when fifth ranked Halcones UV Xalapa (4-6) beat at home one of their biggest challengers Plateros (5-7) 91-84 on Saturday. It was a great shooting night for Halcones UV Xalapa especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 56.3 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The winners were led by American power forward Ishmael Lane (203-97, college: NSU) who scored that evening 20 points and 9 rebounds and American-Filipino guard Mikh McKinney (184-92, college: Sacramento St.) supported him with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Five Halcones UV Xalapa players scored in double figures. Even 29 points and 4 assists by American Jordan Williams (198-92, college: N.Texas) did not help to save the game for Plateros. His fellow American import forward Reyshawn Terry (203-84, college: UNC) added 20 points and 4 assists for the guests. Halcones UV Xalapa have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place. Plateros lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the third position with seven games lost. They share it with Panteras. Halcones UV Xalapa will meet higher ranked Soles (#3) in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Plateros will play against the league's leader Fuerza Regia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
