Arabe de Valp. used a home court advantage and outleveled the opponent from Santiago 73-39 on Sunday night. Arabe de Valp. held Brisas to an opponent 22.5 percent shooting from the field compared to 37.3 percent accuracy of the winners. The former international center Patricio Briones (212-72, college: Miami Dade CC) had a double-double by scoring 11 points and 16 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Venezuelan Jose Brito (-90) chipped in 12 points during the contest. Forward Ignacio Riquelme (183-88) responded with 8 points and 7 rebounds and Felipe Gutierrez (-92) scored 9 points and 6 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Arabe de Valp. will meet Stadio Italiano in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Brisas will play against Arturo Prat and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
