Regular Season Round 9: Plateros - Fuerza Regia 87-84

Leading Fuerza Regia (8-5) recorded its fifth loss in Fresnillo on Thursday night. Visitors were edged by second ranked Plateros (6-8) 87-84. The best player for the winners was American forward Reyshawn Terry (203-84, college: UNC) who scored 15 points and 4 assists. His fellow American import forward Diamon Simpson (204-87, college: St.Mary's, CA) chipped in 10 points and 9 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Nigerian-American power forward OD Anosike (203-91, college: Siena) who recorded a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and American Dominique Johnson (192-87, college: Azusa Pacific) added 20 points respectively. Four Fuerza Regia players scored in double figures. Fuerza Regia's coach Nicolas Casalanguida rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Despite that victory Plateros went down to third position due to points difference, which they share with Panteras. Defending champion Fuerza Regia still keeps top place with five games lost. Plateros will meet league's second-placed Dorados in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Fuerza Regia will play against Halcones UV Xalapa and hope to secure a win.
