The game between closely ranked teams ended with second-best Plateros' (6-8) home loss to first ranked Fuerza Regia (8-5) 82-84 on Friday. The best player for the winners was American guard Rodney Green (197-88, college: La Salle) who scored 24 points and 4 steals. Nigerian-American power forward OD Anosike (203-91, college: Siena) chipped in 15 points and 8 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was international forward Irwin Avalos (202-91, college: DBU) who recorded a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds and American forward Reyshawn Terry (203-84, college: UNC) added 14 points respectively. Five Fuerza Regia and four Plateros players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Defending champion maintains first place with 8-5 record. Loser Plateros dropped to the third position with eight games lost. They share it with Panteras. Fuerza Regia will meet at home Halcones UV Xalapa (#5) in the next round. Plateros will play against the league's second-placed Dorados in Chihuahua and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
