Regular Season Round 4: Rancagua - Brisas 27-107
Date: October 9, 2021
Rather predictable result when third ranked Brisas (1-1) rolled over on the road bottom-ranked Rancagua (0-3) 107-27 on Saturday. Brisas held Rancagua to an opponent 19.6 percent shooting from the field compared to 46.1 percent accuracy of the winners. Brisas forced 36 Rancagua turnovers and outrebounded them 53-26 including a 24-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. The winners were led by the former international Fernanda Serrano (175-92) who scored that evening 34 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds and the former international center Milena Koljanin (182-95) supported her with 12 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Brisas players scored in double figures. Even 6 points by Maria Lobos (-96) did not help to save the game for Rancagua. Camila Diaz (-1) added 4 points for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Brisas maintains third position with 1-1 record having just three points less than leader Infinito, which they share with Univ. Austral. Loser Rancagua still closes the standings with three games lost. They share the position with Vina del Mar and Truenos. Brisas will meet at home league's leader Sportiva Ita. in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Rancagua will play against UNAB Santiago (#4) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
