The most surprising game was the first loss of undefeated Instituto (4-1) in Cordoba on Sunday night. Hosts were edged by fifth ranked Riachuelo LR (2-2) 83-80. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Instituto. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Riachuelo LR looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a good game for the former international Eric Flor (190-93) who led his team to a victory with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Point guard Nicolas Paletta (179-87) contributed with 14 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. The former international guard Nicolas Romano (200-87) replied with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds and Federico Elias (190-99) added 16 points in the effort for Instituto. Four Riachuelo LR and five Instituto players scored in double figures. Riachuelo LR moved-up to second place, which they share with Obras and Olimpico. Instituto at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. They share it with San Martin. Riachuelo LR is looking forward to face Atenas (#3) in Cordoba in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Instituto will have a break next round.
