The most important game in the last round took place in Managua between third ranked Real Esteli (12-7) and seventh ranked Leones MGA (9-8) on Wednesday night. Real Esteli was defeated by Leones MGA in a tough game on the road 81-90. Leones MGA looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Chris Blake (195-88, college: Detroit) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists. Argentinian power forward Gianfranco Sinconi (204-94) chipped in a double-double by scoring 23 points and 16 rebounds. Five Leones MGA players scored in double figures. Cuban Lisvan Valdez (196-88) produced 21 points and 5 assists and American-Puerto Rican Melsahn Basabe (201-92, college: Iowa) added 20 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Leones MGA maintains seventh position with 9-8 record. Real Esteli lost third consecutive game.
