Another exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Concepcion: Univ.Concepcion and UNAB Concep. (#3). Univ.Concepcion (2-0) crushed visiting UNAB Concep. (1-3) by 63 points 84-21. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of UNAB Concep.. Univ.Concepcion held UNAB Concep. to an opponent 20.5 percent shooting from the field compared to 41.3 percent accuracy of the winners. Univ.Concepcion forced 30 UNAB Concep. turnovers and outrebounded them 52-31 including a 27-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Univ.Concepcion looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 3 passes made by UNAB Concep.'s players. The best player for the winners was Josefina Viafora (-99) who had a double-double by scoring 31 points and 11 rebounds. Yenicel Torres (171-99) chipped in 18 points and 9 rebounds. Center Estefania Munoz (-96) produced 7 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Sofia Mendoza (-95) added 5 points respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Despite that victory Univ.Concepcion went down to second position due to points difference. Loser UNAB Concep. dropped to the fourth place with three games lost. They share the position with Brisas and Vina del Mar. Univ.Concepcion will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. UNAB Concep. will play against Truenos (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
