Regular Season Round 6: Luis ML - New Crusaders 45-63

There was no surprise in Santiago where bottom-ranked Luis ML (0-5) was defeated by first ranked New Crusaders (4-1) 63-45 on Thursday. New Crusaders dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to Luis ML's 22. New Crusaders forced 25 Luis ML turnovers. The former international forward Anahi Moran (168-96) had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 14 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Viviana Migueles (-91) chipped in 14 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was Paula Catalan with 12 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international center Claudia Silva (193-89) scored 11 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. New Crusaders maintains first position with 4-1 record, which they share with Univ.de Chile. Loser Luis ML still closes the standings with five games lost. They share the position with Rancagua. New Crusaders will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Luis ML's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Santiago Sergio Ceppi.
