Regular Season Round 18: Caballos - Dragones 56-95

The game in Aguadulce supposed to be also quite interesting. Third ranked Dragones (11-5) played at the court of 6th ranked Caballos (3-13). Dragones smashed Caballos 95-56 on Thursday. Dragones dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Caballos' 36. Dragones forced 19 Caballos turnovers. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. Dragones looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Caballos' players. The best player for the winners was forward Pablo Rivas (198-94, college: NCCU) who scored 21 points and 4 assists. Point guard Joel Munoz (183-80) chipped in 11 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Rivas is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Dragones players scored in double figures. Dragones' coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international Nicanor Alvarez (192-91) who recorded a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and the former international power forward Orlando Ortega (200-81) added 10 points and 11 rebounds respectively. Dragones have an impressive five-game winning streak. Newly promoted Dragones maintains third position with 11-5 record behind leader Correcaminos. Defending champion Caballos keep the sixth place with 13 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
