There was a minor upset in Brasilia where one of their biggest challengers Cerrado (2-1) was defeated by seventh ranked Paschoalotto/Bauru (2-1) 92-87 on Thursday. Paschoalotto/Bauru made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized American point guard Larry Taylor (183-80, college: MWSU) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and 4 assists and the former international center Rafael Hettsheimeir (210-86) who added 25 points during the contest. At the losing side American point guard Kenny Dawkins (172-87, college: Lamar) responded with 27 points and power forward Ruan Miranda (205-1) scored 17 points and 7 rebounds. Four Cerrado players scored in double figures. Paschoalotto/Bauru moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Paulistano and Cerrado. Paschoalotto/Bauru will meet Brasilia (#15) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Cerrado will play against U.Corinthians (#17) in Santa Cruz do Sul and hope to secure a win.
