Regular Season Round 4: Brasilia - Pinheiros 92-93

Bottom-ranked Brasilia (0-2) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 93-92 loss to tenth ranked Pinheiros (2-2) in Brasilia on Thursday evening. Pinheiros had a 19-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized Portuguese forward Rafael Munford (195-98, college: Augusta) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 6 rebounds and international center Dikembe Andre (206-99) who added 14 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side point guard Pedrinho Rava Wellausen (183-95) responded with 24 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists and American-Filipino Zach Graham (198-89, college: Ole Miss) scored 26 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Pinheiros and four Brasilia players scored in double figures. Pinheiros moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Mogi and Sao Paulo. Loser Brasilia still closes the standings with two games lost. Pinheiros will meet at home Fortaleza (#14) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Brasilia will play against Paschoalotto/Bauru and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
