Regular Season Round 2: Instituto - San Lorenzo 101-65

The biggest surprise of round 2 in La Liga took place in Cordoba where host Instituto crushed San Lorenzo 101-65 on Saturday evening. Instituto dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to San Lorenzo's 28. They outrebounded San Lorenzo 35-21 including 27 on the defensive glass. Instituto looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. The best player for the winners was Federico Elias (190-99) who scored 22 points. The former international guard Nicolas Romano (200-87) chipped in 14 points and 5 rebounds. Mauricio Corzo (195-95) produced 18 points and Jose Defelippo (186-97) added 12 points and 4 assists respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. San Lorenzo will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest. Instituto will try to continue on its current victory against Penarol in Mar del Plata.
