Regular Season Round 8: Tigrillos - Team Cali 74-79

Tigrillos (#4) were upset in Medellin by seventh ranked Team Cali 79-74. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Tigrillos. The winners were led by Dominican power forward Jeromy Rodriguez (201-96, college: ETSU) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 24 points and 14 rebounds and Dominican forward Rich Polanco (203-97, college: S.Dakota) supported him with 16 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Even a double-double of 22 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) by American-U.S. Virgin Islands point guard Georgio Milligan (188-90, college: F&M) did not help to save the game for Tigrillos. American forward Jacob Calloway (202-96, college: SUU) added 16 points and 5 rebounds for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Team Cali maintains seventh position with 5-3 record. Tigrillos at the other side dropped to the fifth place with two games lost. They share the position with Cimarrones. Team Cali will play against league's leader Titanes in Barranquilla in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Tigrillos will play on the road against Motilones (#3) in Cucuta and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
