There was no surprise in Formosa where La Union was defeated by Comunicaciones 99-86 on Monday. Comunicaciones dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to La Union's 44. They outrebounded La Union 41-20 including a 31-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Forward Franco Maeso (197-1) had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Santiago Barrales (189-98) chipped in 12 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Guard Matias Caire (188) responded with 22 points and Agustin Sigel scored 22 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Four Comunicaciones and five La Union players scored in double figures. Comunicaciones will meet Regatas in the next round. La Union will play against Obras and hope to win that game.
