Everything went according to plan when Gimnasia (2-0) defeated Argentino (0-2) in Comodoro Rivadavia 90-72 on Tuesday. Gimnasia looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Gimnasia made 7 blocks. It was an exceptional evening for point guard Sebastian Orresta (188-93) who led the winners and scored 22 points. International center Roberto Acuna (208-90) accounted for 14 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Five Gimnasia players scored in double figures. Center Ezequiel Filipetti (200-1) came up with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists and Pablo Alderete (198-93) added 14 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Argentino in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gimnasia will meet at home Platense (#20) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Argentino will play against San Lorenzo in Almagro and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
