Regular Season Round 10: Ameghino - Salta Basket 62-76

Everything could happen in Villa Maria at the game between two tied teams. Both third ranked Salta Basket and their biggest opponent Ameghino had identical 3-4 record. But Ameghino was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Salta 76-62 on Tuesday night. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Salta Basket dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Ameghino's 34. Point guard Nicolas Zurschmitten (183-95) scored 23 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Cuban forward Yasmany Fundora (201-92) chipped in 8 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side point guard Cristian Zenclussen (186-97) responded with 14 points and 8 rebounds and power forward Juan Luis Abeiro (200-88) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. Four Ameghino players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Salta Basket (4-4) keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Estudiantes C. Loser Ameghino keeps the second place with five games lost.
