Not a big story in a game when 11th ranked Corsarios (1-8) were outscored by fifth ranked Storm (7-2) in Cartagena 66-47. Storm held Corsarios to an opponent 22.1 percent shooting from the field compared to 33.3 percent accuracy of the winners. International forward Luis Almanza (196-91) stepped up and scored 15 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and Argentinian swingman Federico Mariani (190-92) chipped in 11 points. Storm's coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was naturalized Venezuelan forward Yorbis Altamar (195-99) with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds and American point guard Ryan Roland (178, college: LeMoyne) scored 14 points. Storm moved-up to second place, which they share with Cafeteros and Motilones. Corsarios lost their eighth game in a row. Newly promoted team dropped to the bottom position with eight games lost. They share it with Bucaros. Storm will play against Tigrillos (#6) in Medellin in the next round. Corsarios will play on the road against Bucaros (#11) in Bucaramanga and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
