Regular Season Round 11: Salta Basket - Independ.O. 76-91

There was no surprise when 3rd placed Salta Basket (4-5) lost at home to first ranked Independ.O. (9-1) 91-76 on Wednesday. It was an exceptional evening for power forward Fernando Martina (200-81) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Lucio Reinaudi (185-95) accounted for 18 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Four Independ.O. players scored in double figures. Point guard Nicolas Zurschmitten (183-95) came up with 16 points and 5 assists and point guard Federico De Miguel (176-97) added 18 points and 4 assists respectively for Salta Basket in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Newly promoted Independ.O. maintains first place with 9-1 record, which they share with Barrio Parque and Dep Viedma. Loser Salta Basket still keeps top position with five games lost. They share it with Estudiantes C. and Ameghino. Independ.O. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Salta Basket will play against the league's leader Barrio Parque in Cordoba and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
