Regular Season Round 7: Quimsa - Corrientes 48-77

The biggest surprise of round 7 was guest Corrientes' (#5) easy road victory over Quimsa (#8) 77-48 on Thursday evening. Agustina Leiva fired a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Guard Sofia Cabrera (168) chipped in 22 points. Four Corrientes players scored in double figures. Center Andrea Ledesma (182-96) produced 9 points and 7 rebounds and center Julieta Ibarra (-98) added 9 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Corrientes maintains fifth place with 3-3 record. Quimsa lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth position with four games lost. They share it with Ferro and Los Indios. Corrientes are looking forward to face league's leader Berazategui in Buenos Aires in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Quimsa will play at home against Obras (#3) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
