The most surprising game was the first loss of Flamengo (6-1) in Sao Paulo on Thursday night. Visitors were defeated by eighth ranked Paulistano (3-1) 87-81. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Flamengo. Serbian guard Nino Celebic (191-91) scored 16 points and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and international Eduardo Sommer (205-94) chipped in 20 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was international point guard Yago Matheus (173-99) with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and American Brandon Robinson (196-89, college: Clayton St.) scored 13 points. Four Flamengo players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Paulistano have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place. Defending champion Flamengo still keeps top position with one game lost. Paulistano are looking forward to face league's second-placed Minas in Belo Horizonte in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Flamengo will have a break next round.
