The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Quimsa as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Quimsa smashed 14th ranked Obera in Santiado del Estero 100-79. Quimsa made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Quimsa outrebounded Obera 39-28 including a 33-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Sebastian Acevedo (200-90) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 6 rebounds and American power forward Eric Anderson (204-93, college: New Haven, agency: Duran International) who added 14 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Five Quimsa players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Melvin Johnson (193-93, college: VCU) responded with 14 points and 4 assists and the former international point guard Nicolas De los Santos (180-88) scored 15 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Quimsa have a solid four-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with San Martin. Obera lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the seventeenth place with four games lost. Obera will play next round against Obras trying to get back on the winning streak. Quimsa will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked Boca in Buenos Aires.
